The C2BMC Next Program, based in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our team supporting the Command and Control for Ballistic Missile Defense. This role involves providing software engineering expertise to the Regional Applications team in support of enterprise systems.
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for software development in the Java language, contributing to updates across multiple systems and software disciplines. Your work will include problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.
What You Will Do- Perform software engineering and development using Java/J2EE or other Object-Oriented (OO) development experience (C++ experience is a plus).
- Apply and adhere to basic software practices, including coding standards and configuration management.
- Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Provide updates and contribute to systems across multiple software disciplines, with a general understanding of related disciplines, application implications, and customer requirements.
- Develop solutions to address performance issues, troubleshoot problems, and ensure seamless operational integration.

- Understanding software practices such as coding standards and configuration management.
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
Qualifications We Prefer- Experience with Agile development tools, such as JIRA or other Agile management platforms.
- Proven ability to decompose Agile features into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Knowledge or experience with server-side/database development and computer system administration.
- Experience developing enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with Java foundation classes and toolkits.
- Flexibility and a willingness to take on unanticipated tasks.
- Security+ or equivalent certification is highly desired.
