Role Overview

Software Engineers play a foundational role in building the software that powers Best Egg's products and platforms. These engineers design, implement, test, and support features in collaboration with cross-functional Agile teams while continuously improving systems, tooling, and engineering practices.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and deliver software iteratively and incrementally under guidance.
  • Implement small features and bug fixes with coaching from senior engineers.
  • Write unit tests and follow established testing utilities and patterns.
  • Ask for clarification early, communicate progress, and escalate blockers quickly.
  • Perform unit, integration, and regression testing and strengthen test coverage.
  • Interpret, refine, and challenge business requirements; document technical decisions.
  • Support deployments, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to operational readiness.

  • Demonstrates steady growth in delivering small, well-defined tasks.

  • Delivers features with increasing independence.
  • Shows proficiency in debugging and improving system areas.
  • Demonstrates foundational architectural understanding and good engineering hygiene.
  • Consistently delivers high-quality features with minimal oversight.
  • Mentors junior engineers and helps shape team norms.
  • Contributes meaningful improvements to code quality, performance, or tooling.


What You Bring
