Workday Position Summary

This role is responsible for developing, supporting, and maintaining business-critical applications while ensuring operational stability, compliance, risk management, and service excellence. This role combines software engineering expertise with application production support, controls execution, incident management, and platform governance responsibilities.

The associate will work across the software development lifecycle, contributing to design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of applications. In addition, they will partner with business, technology, and operations stakeholders to monitor application health, manage risk and controls, support audit and compliance requirements, and ensure applications meet availability, resiliency, and performance objectives.

The ideal candidate possesses strong software engineering skills while demonstrating ownership of application stability, production support processes, problem resolution, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions that meet business, technical, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in story refinement, requirements analysis, estimation, and sprint planning activities.
  • Support deployment, release, and CI/CD activities across development and production environments.
  • Execute and maintain application controls, operational procedures, and governance processes to ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
  • Partner with Risk, Audit, Information Security, and Technology Control teams to support assessments, evidence collection, and remediation activities.
  • Analyze production issues and implement preventive measures to improve system stability and resiliency.
  • Maintain application operational documentation, support procedures, knowledge articles, and control evidence.
  • Collaborate with architects, product managers, developers, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Track and communicate application risks, dependencies, metrics, and service-level performance.


Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, application support, production support, or related technology roles.
  • Experience developing applications using modern programming languages and software engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience supporting applications in production environments and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Experience supporting financial services, payments, banking, or highly regulated technology environments.
  • Understanding of IT controls, operational risk management, audit processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management tools.
  • Knowledge of database technologies, APIs, distributed systems, and application architectures.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Experience documenting technical processes, support procedures, and operational controls.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with application resiliency, disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability architectures.
  • Knowledge of technology risk frameworks, operational excellence practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience with automation and scripting using Python, Shell, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with observability platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, or similar tools.
  • Experience implementing monitoring, alerting, and self-healing operational capabilities.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and container technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, or public cloud services.
  • Experience supporting technology audits and control assessments.
  • Knowledge of ITIL disciplines including Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Management.
  • Ability to lead operational improvement initiatives and drive continuous service optimization.
  • Industry certifications such as AWS, Azure, ITIL, Scrum, SRE, or related technology certifications.
