Full Job Description
What We Do

Sony Interactive Entertainment is the company behind PlayStation. We build tools, and experiences used by players and development teams across the PlayStation ecosystem.
Our team develops and maintains a multi-platform application framework that helps internal teams build rich PlayStation user experiences. The framework combines React Native, native platform integration, reusable UI components, SDK tooling, and developer documentation.
Are You Looking For A Challenge?

We are looking for a Software Engineer to help develop, maintain, and improve the application framework powering PlayStation user experiences across multiple platforms. You will work across JavaScript/TypeScript, native platform integration, C++, build systems, and SDK packaging.
The ideal candidate has strong software engineering fundamentals, real interest in framework and runtime work, and experience building reusable software such as SDKs, libraries, native modules, or cross-platform developer. Experience with React Native or Apple platforms such as iOS or macOS is a strong plus.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Implement, debug, and maintain application framework features across JavaScript/TypeScript and native layers.
  • Build and improve developer-facing APIs, native modules, framework components, and integration paths used by application teams.
  • Contribute to native framework code in C++.
  • Improve framework integration with React Native and native platform services.
  • Improve SDK packaging, framework templates, sample apps, documentation, and integration guides so partner teams can adopt framework capabilities with less support.
  • Debug issues across JavaScript, native code, build tooling, runtimes, and CI.
  • Maintain backward compatibility and clear versioning expectations for framework APIs.
  • Add tests, validation notes, and sample coverage for framework changes.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, product teams, UI teams, and application teams to clarify requirements and land maintainable solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions, with an emphasis on correctness, maintainability, performance, and developer experience.
What We Are Looking For
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience building libraries, SDKs, frameworks, developer tooling, native modules, or other reusable engineering platforms.
  • Strong JavaScript or TypeScript experience.
  • Solid C++ fundamentals, including memory ownership, API boundaries, build/debug workflows, and performance-aware implementation.
  • Ability to debug across layers: JavaScript, native platform code, build systems, runtime logs, and CI output.
  • Strong API design judgment, including compatibility, versioning, error handling, documentation, and testability.
  • Comfort working in a large codebase with existing patterns and platform constraints.
  • Clear written communication for design notes, PR descriptions, validation results, and developer documentation.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Familiarity with React Native.
  • Experience with cross-platform SDKs or frameworks across iOS, macOS, Android, Linux, game console, or desktop platforms.
  • Experience writing high-performance or ABI-conscious C++ code.
  • Familiarity with CMake, Conan, CocoaPods, Gradle, Maven, npm, or other package and build distribution systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins.
  • Experience building native UI components, focus/input systems, accessibility surfaces, performance instrumentation, or test harnesses.
  • Experience working with application teams as framework consumers and translating integration pain into reusable framework improvements.
