Full Job Description
About The Opportunity

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our team and build high-performance interfaces that control our automated restaurants. In this role, you will be working on tools that allow operators to interact with our robotic kitchen. You will work primarily with Vue.js, TypeScript, and CSS using websockets to facilitate communication between our cloud infrastructure and on-premise robotics. You will collaborate closely with cross functional teams spanning from software, hardware, and product to ship features that are not only functional but resilient enough to power the future of food-tech.

The Impact You Will Make
  • Own the User Interface: Develop and maintain the Vue.js applications that serve as the primary interface for our robotics, providing restaurant team members with real-time visibility and controls to our machines.
  • Master Real-Time Communication: Build and optimize systems that rely heavily on WebSockets, ensuring the UI stays responsive and accurate while processing high-frequency data from our backend.
  • Collaborative Design: Partner with Product Designers to translate Figma mockups into reality, providing technical feedback to find the sweet spot between ambitious UX and high-performance implementation.
  • Performance Engineering: Proactively diagnose and solve frontend performance bottlenecks, ensuring that complex state changes don't compromise the user experience in high-pressure kitchen environments.
  • Bridge the Stack: While primarily focused on Vue.js, you're excited to familiarize yourself with our whole tech stack, eager to learn new frameworks and languages.

What You Bring to the Table
  • 3+ years of professional frontend development experience, with deep expertise in Vue.js (or similar frontend frameworks, e.g. React, Angular, Svelte), TypeScript and CSS.
  • State Management Understanding: Strong experience with a centralized state management store and a deep understanding of how to manage complex, reactive data structures.
  • Design Sensibility: A strong eye for UI/UX and the ability to contribute meaningfully to design discussions, ensuring tools are intuitive for restaurant team members.
  • WebSocket Fluency: Proven experience building applications that rely on persistent, two-way communication protocols for real-time updates.
  • Performance Mindset: Ability to identify bottlenecks, using profiling tools to diagnose and solve performance issues under heavy loads.
  • Pragmatic & Curious: A willingness to learn the Elixir/Phoenix layer when a project calls for it.
