About the Role:

As a CBRE Software Engineer, you will carry out Master Systems Integration of building management systems (BMS), build control databases, create user interfaces and set-up control systems based on project specification and/or sales proposals.

Provide on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers. Performs field startup and system commissioning tasks as well as the remote installation of software and control programs.

This job is part of the Software Engineering job function responsible for delivering projects on a global scale for large enterprise clients using industry leading technologies and processes.

What You'll Do:
• Create complex programming using flow diagrams, sequences of operations and panel layouts.
• Perform programming of control applications using various software tools.
• Perform job-site system checkout, commissioning, and testing of control applications.
• Confirm proper operation according to project specifications, sales proposal, and design documentation.
• Approve and develop system graphic displays, according to project specifications or sales proposal.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers.
• Perform advanced system evaluation and diagnostics.
• Isolate and troubleshoot escalated problems and take corrective action.
• Document problem resolution and report finding back to Project team for customer follow-up.
• Coordinates system installation with installing contractors at job site as required.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
• Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of standard principles and a broad knowledge of several job disciples within the function.
• Support the management of software tools.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. May convince to reach an agreement.
• Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.
• Work within broad guidelines and policies.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information.

What You'll Need:
• Bachelor's Degree in HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical or Software Engineering preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
• Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
• Must possess core knowledge in a minimum of four of the following:
• Building Management Systems
• Niagara - Required
• Distech Controls
• Building Automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus)
• HVAC Controls
• IT Networking
• Commissioning
• Troubleshooting
• Travel requirement is up to 50% of your annual time. Trips will be overnight up to a weeklong. Back-to-back travel weeks are not normal.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Software Engineer position is $96,500 annually [or $46.39 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Software Engineer position is $115,500 annually [or $55.52 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
