ThePeraton Health, State and LocalSectorisseeking aSoftware Development, Senior Associateto join us in supporting andmaintainingthe Medicare FeeforService claims processing system. In this role,youllbe a keycontributing memberof an Agile teamprovidingmaintenance and operations supportfor the Medicare Durable Medicare Equipment (DME) contract.

As aSoftwareDevelopment, Senior Associate, you will work within a highly structured and rigorous development environment that follows theSAFeAgile/Scrum framework. Thisrolefocuseson the ongoing support, maintenance, and stability of the legacy mainframe systems, including COBOL and Assembler components, thatprovidecritical Medicare Claims processing operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, codes,unit tests, and debugsenhancementsand fixesto the health claims processing systemwhile adhering to strict coding standards.
  • Participates as akey contributingmember of a persistent development teamsupporting maintenance andoperations.
  • Completes development to implement complex componentswithin a legacy mainframe environment.
  • Works under general directionto resolve defects, implement change requests, and support operational stability.
  • Participatesin design activitiesrelated tomaintenance solutions.
  • Demonstratesgeneral useand application ofdevelopmentconcepts, practices, and techniques.
  • Designs,preparesand executes unit teststovalidatechangeprior to release,andrepresentsteam to clients.

Qualifications
  • Education & Experience:2 years withBS/BA, or a High School diploma with6years of experience.
  • Requires 2-5 years of mainframe development experience.
  • Proficiencywith mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, TSO and VSAM.
  • Abilityto perform well in a highly rigorous, structureddevelopment environment.
  • Demonstrates experience as a software developer in a mainframe environment, preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability todetermineand decompose businessand technicalrequirements.
  • Experience with application lifecyclemethodology,specifically Agile/SCRUM.
  • Strong communicationskills and technical writingability.
  • Ability to develop application project solutions andprovideaccurateestimates.
  • Experience with DevOps/DevSecOpstools and frameworks through plan, define, build, test, release and deploy processes.
  • Familiarity with development and collaboration tools: GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Eclipse (IDz/RDz)
  • SAFeexperience and/or certification.
  • Must be able to obtain andmaintainPublicTrust clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of health care claims processing, particularly Medicare FeeForService.
  • Experience with Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, DME or Medicare Common Working File (CWF) specific processingsystems.
  • Experience working with or in support ofCMSprograms or contracts.
  • Experience withAssemblerlanguage in a mainframe environment.
  • Familiarity with development and collaboration tools:GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Eclipse (IDz/RDz).
  • Exposure to modern languages such asJava or Python.
Target Salary Range$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individuals experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
