Job Description:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled School Social Worker / Counselor to join our team in a school-based setting, supporting the academic, emotional, and social well-being of students.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about advocating for children and helping them overcome barriers to learning and success.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to students facing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges
Conduct social-emotional assessments and help develop appropriate support plans
Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to support student development and academic achievement
Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources
Support the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Address issues such as bullying, trauma, family crisis, mental health, and truancy
Participate in crisis intervention and conflict resolution efforts within the school
Promote positive behavior and social-emotional learning through classroom sessions and school-wide initiatives
Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with school and district policies
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
Valid state licensure or certification (e.g., LMSW, LCSW, LPC, or equivalent)
Experience working with children or adolescents in a school setting (preferred)
Understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and school-based interventions
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and multidisciplinary teams
