About this Opportunity

The Social Work Supervisor III - Adult Services supervises a team of social workers who work with elderly and disabled adults experiencing a variety of challenges and complex needs. The programs involved include Adult Protective Services Evaluations, case management, and placement services, Special Assistance In-Home Services, Adult Daycare, Adult Guardianship, and Adult Care Home Monitoring and evaluations. The goal of this program area is to ensure that the needs of vulnerable and disabled adults are met.

We are seeking candidates with a strong understanding of casework supervision and training methods and principles. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices, and how they apply to both casework and community-related challenges. A solid understanding of behavioral and socioeconomic issues, as well as their treatment, is essential. Additionally, familiarity with both governmental and private organizations, along with community resources, is important. The role requires a thorough understanding of the laws, regulations, and policies that govern social work programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to supervise, train, or mentor lower-level social workers, students, interns, or other staff, and must be able to clearly communicate ideas and effectively plan and carry out tasks.

Must be available to work after normal business hours and during emergency situations.
Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or
  • Master's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of directly related experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
