This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

Job Description

The Social Media Planner (Intelligence Analyst 3-5) supports USAFCYBER and USCYBERCOM by analyzing online behavior patterns, social media dynamics, adversary influence networks, and population sentiment trends to inform planning and operational decision-making. The role translates complex social media data into actionable insights, enabling commanders to visualize the information environment, identify vulnerabilities, evaluate messaging effectiveness, and enhance cyber-enabled influence operations. The planner works closely with intelligence teams, Cyber Task Forces, operational planners, and MISO/IO practitioners to develop data-driven campaign strategies aligned with mission objectives.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze adversary and population online behavior patterns, influence networks, and sentiment trends to assess friendly effectiveness and identify operational risks.
  • Collaborate with intelligence teams, planners, and Cyber Task Forces to produce data-driven insights supporting campaign development and refinement of Operational Approach Ideas (OAIs).
  • Enable commanders to visualize information terrain, map adversary and friendly vulnerabilities, and measure operational effectiveness across multiple social media platforms.
  • Perform social media data analysis to identify trends, measure sentiment, and map influencer networks within the information environment.
  • Develop assessments on the effectiveness of social media engagement, messaging, and cyber-enabled influence campaigns.
  • Monitor the online landscape to detect emerging narratives, adversary information operations, and disinformation campaigns; provide timely alerts and reports.
  • Produce data-driven insights, dashboards, and visualizations supporting campaign development and operational decision-making.
  • Deliver briefings on social media landscape analysis, influence networks, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Produce visualization products, sentiment analysis reports, and assessments measuring reach, engagement, and impact of online content.


Minimum Qualifications

LEVEL 3 = 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

LEVEL 4 = 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.

LEVEL 5 = 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
    • Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
    • 6+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree in data analytics, communications, psychology, sociology, intelligence studies, international studies, cybersecurity, or related field. 4+ years with a Masters, or 10+ years with an HS Diploma. Level 3 = 6+yrs w/BA; Level 4 = 9+yrs with BA, Level 5 = 15+yrs w/BA.
    • 6+ years of experience conducting social media analysis, sentiment analysis, or influence network mapping for DoD, IC, or government entities.
    • Training or certification in Target Audience Analysis, Military Information Support Operations (MISO), Joint Information Operations, or Intelligence Support to Information Operations
    • Ability to convert complex social media data into operational insights and decision-ready intelligence.
    • Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative research into actionable operational intelligence.
    • Strong briefing, writing, and communication skills for senior leadership audiences.
    • Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, including intelligence analysts, planners, and operations personnel.

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior experience supporting PSYOP, IO, special operations, cyber operations, or AFCYBER/USCYBERCOM organizations.
  • Experience with advanced social media analytics, network analysis, or disinformation detection tools.
  • Experience working in fast-paced operational environments requiring rapid analysis and iterative assessment.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph


Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
