Responsibilities

Peraton requires Systems Administrators to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3 EOM.  This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida.

 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365. 

 

Systems Administrators perform admin level support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. Systems Administrators continuously observe the operation of assigned applications and storage devices to monitor system operations and determine the point of hardware or software failure. This position manipulates systems in accordance with standard procedures to continue operations when individual units of a system malfunction. Systems Administrators confer with software systems engineering or applications programming personnel if errors require a change of instructions or sequences of operations. Systems Administrators maintains operating records such as machine performance and production reports.

 

Typical duties include:

 

  • Deploying VMs to an operational state, installing operating system software, patches, and upgrades; take and revert to snapshots in vCenter.
  • Analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving system hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning, and monitoring operating system software and hardware.
  • Performing system daily checks, action incidents and CRQs in Remedy.
  • Conducting server builds on VMware and Nutanix hypervisors.
  • Complete troubleshooting issues related to the infrastructure; install and renew certificates for the infrastructure components.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for the environment.
  • Maintains Nutanix components, network access; documents, analyzes, and troubleshoots systems anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance
  • Provide basic support of Identity Management roles, policies, permissions, hardware, and software.
  • Ability to work shift and weekend assignments as needed.
  • Shift work required.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Min 12 years with HS Diploma, 10 years AS/AA degree, 8 years with BS/BA degree, 6 years with MS/MA, 3 years with PhD
  • Minimum of 2 years as a Systems Administrator or 3 years in complex end-user desktop and mobile device support.
  • Background in the specific types of hardware and software systems (VMware, Nutanix, Dell, HP, and CISCO) used by the Government
  • A DoD TS/SCI clearance is required
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT II

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Must be DoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 451 – System Administrator - Intermediate level or higher by 1 Oct 26.
  • MCSA in a relevant field OR Microsoft Certified Associate in a pertinent area
  • VMWare Certified Associate (VCA) 
  • Nutanix (highly desired)
Target Salary Range$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
