Full Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operations Leadership
    • Lead all day-to-day 3PL warehouse and distribution operations.
    • Ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and returns.
    • Establish and maintain operational KPIs, productivity standards, and service-level objectives.
    • Optimize warehouse layout, labor utilization, workflows, equipment, and processes.
    • Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
    • Manage relationships with internal departments.
  • Financial & Business Management
    • Have overall P&L responsibility for the 3PL operation.
    • Develop labor forecasts, labor plans, and operating targets.
    • Monitor revenue, labor costs, operating expenses, productivity, and profitability.
    • Identify opportunities to improve margins and reduce operating costs.
    • Develop operational strategies for new and existing customers in partnership with senior management.
    • Support business development and customer retention initiatives.
      Customer Management
    • Serve as a senior point of contact for key 3PL customers.
    • Build strong, long-term customer relationships and ensure service expectations are consistently met.
    • Resolve escalated operational issues quickly and professionally.
    • Partner with sales and implementation teams to onboard new customers successfully.
  • People & Team Leadership
    • Recruit, train, coach, and develop warehouse and operations leadership teams.
    • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.
    • Develop supervisors and managers to create a strong leadership pipeline.
    • Manage staffing levels according to business volume and customer requirements.
    • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
      Inventory & Technology
    • Maintain high inventory accuracy and establish effective cycle-counting and inventory-control procedures.
    • Oversee utilization of WMS, TMS, ERP, and other logistics technology.
    • Analyze operational data and reporting to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
    • Lead implementation of new systems, processes, automation, and technology as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized facility.
    • Enforce safety training and accountability programs.
    • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
    • Continuous Improvement
    • Implement Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or other continuous-improvement methodologies where appropriate.
    • Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput, quality, and profitability.
    • Enforce standardized operating procedures and best practices.
    • Drive automation and process improvements that support scalability.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
    • The Site Leader will be accountable for metrics including:
    • On-time shipping and order fulfillment
    • Inventory accuracy
    • Order accuracy
    • Labor productivity
    • Warehouse utilization
    • Customer satisfaction / retention
    • Cost per order / unit
    • Revenue and gross margin
    • EBITDA / operating profitability
    • Employee turnover
    • Safety performance
    • Carrier performance
    • Claims, damages, and shrink
    • SLA compliance
    • High-level client interactions and management around needs that will impact their teams
    • Increasing profit margin
    • Continuous improvement
    • Work closely with safety to maintain a clean and safe space for employees
    • Conflict resolution and corrective action with staff, as needed to maintain a safe and harmonious workplace.
    • Coordinate with vendors as needed
    • Work closely with departments in our corporate HQ

Qualifications and Skills:
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, or 3PL operations.
  • 3+ years in a senior operations management or General Manager role preferred.
  • Proven experience managing a high-volume warehouse or multi-client 3PL operation.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management, inventory control, fulfillment, transportation, and supply-chain processes.
  • Demonstrated P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-management experience.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Experience with WMS/ERP/TMS platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and manage multiple priorities.
