Site Installation Supervisor to support Airport Logistics for our ORD project. This role is responsible for providing on-site technical and operational leadership during the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of complex baggage handling systems (BHS). The Site Installation Supervisor ensures installation activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Report directly to the Site Manager and provide day-to-day oversight of installation activities.
- Supervise mechanical and electrical subcontractors to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project schedules and quality standards.
- Coordinate and monitor installation activities to support successful project execution and completion.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to support installation planning, system modifications, and project implementation.
- Review installation drawings, technical specifications, schematics, and work plans, providing guidance and technical support throughout project execution.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with all applicable safety, quality, and operational requirements.
- Support system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities as required.
- Train customers and site personnel on the operation, maintenance, and adjustment of baggage handling equipment and systems.
- Complete and submit project documentation, reports, and status updates in a timely manner.
- Maintain and oversee the proper use and care of tools, equipment, testing devices, and calibration instruments.
- Identify and resolve installation challenges while collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and customers to minimize project impacts.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
Education- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Industry certifications or specialized training may be required depending on project or customer requirements.
Qualifications & Experience- Extensive knowledge of baggage handling systems, conveyor systems, or comparable automated material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical installation practices.
- Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and installation plans.
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing installation activities and coordinating subcontractors on complex projects.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in dynamic project environments while managing competing priorities.
- Typically requires 5-8 years of experience in site supervision, construction management, industrial installation, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or additional technical certifications may be considered in lieu of some experience where applicable.
Leadership and Travel- Provide leadership, guidance, training, and mentorship to subcontractors, technicians, and support personnel.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, commissioning teams, subcontractors, customers, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Extensive travel may be required, including assignment to specific project sites and occasional support of other project locations as business needs dictate.
