Full Job Description
Our Simulation and Test Systems team is at the core of Reliable's autonomy mission, responsible for building the high-fidelity physics simulation, event-driven test framework, hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) test environments, and cloud-scale Monte Carlo infrastructure. These systems are essential for enabling millions of flight-equivalent hours of box and system level testing, providing fast and accurate feedback on system behavior under all conceivable flight profiles, environmental conditions, and fault states.
Responsibilities

As the Simulation and Test Systems Manager at Reliable Robotics, you'll lead and grow the team of engineers responsible for Reliable's end-to-end simulation framework and test automation infrastructure. You'll own the maturation of engineering processes to balance rapid simulation-based testing and GNC algorithm evaluation with the rigorous, deterministic verification required for aviation certification.

You'll provide technical and architectural guidance on all aspects of the simulation stack, including framework performance, flight dynamics modeling, hardware emulation, and cloud-based parallel simulation systems. You'll work closely with leaders across Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GNC), Flight Software, Systems, Avionics, and Certification to develop and execute technical roadmaps, manage priorities, and empower your team to deliver robust, reproducible, and highly scalable verification tools.
Basic Success Criteria
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 7+ years of professional experience in simulation framework design, physics modeling, or hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) test development
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or people management role, scaling teams and engineering processes
  • Strong professional experience in C++ and Python for simulation, system integration, and data processing
  • Excellent documentation, collaboration, and cross-functional communication skills
Preferred Criteria
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and maturing development processes in a high-growth environment
  • Deep understanding of aircraft flight dynamics, sensor modeling, or control systems
  • Experience developing high-fidelity simulators or test environments for safety-critical / DO-178C software and hardware systems
  • Experience architecting distributed simulation frameworks, cluster virtualization, or cloud-scale Monte Carlo test pipelines (AWS/Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Experience working with hardware emulators, waveform generators, or real-time operating systems (RTOS)

This position requires access to information that is subject to U.S. export controls. An offer of employment will be contingent upon the applicant's capacity to perform in compliance with U.S. export control laws.
