Full Job Description

Alloy is looking for a hard-working and detail oriented Production Shift Supervisor to manage the 3rd shift. This role works within the Part Production team building parts for our customers at Alloy’s part production facility. This role will report to the Director of Part Production who will be responsible for on-site training along with support from lead technicians.. 

The Production Shift Leader is in charge of ensuring that every aspect and detail of the shift runs smoothly.  Ability to train others, to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods, for the part production. 

This role requires 5 days onsite per week.

Who You Are

You are a hands-on manufacturing leader who is comfortable owning the floor during off-shift production. You lead from the front, work directly with technicians and operators, and understand that strong shift performance comes from clear priorities, disciplined execution, safe work practices, and attention to the details of the process.

You are dependable, technically curious, and calm under pressure. You can make practical decisions with limited support, troubleshoot equipment and process issues, and escalate clearly when needed. You take pride in keeping production moving while maintaining quality, documentation accuracy, and safety standards.

You are not just a scheduler or people manager. You are a floor leader who can train others, reinforce standard work, identify issues, and help improve how the team builds parts. You are comfortable in a fast-moving production environment where priorities can shift, but expectations for safety, quality, and accountability remain constant.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside technicians and operators to fabricate components using Alloy’s novel metal manufacturing systems to build aluminum parts which include laser cutting, bonding presses, and sheet handling equipment
  • Manage resources effectively to support customer delivery requirements and also Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace is maintained at all times
  • Run and tune proprietary software programs to optimize production processes
  • Complete initial prototype builds, analyze results, and refine component designs  
  • Work closely with Applications, Engineering, Software, and Manufacturing teams to run production builds
  • Perform quality assessments according to customer specifications
  • Provide feedback to identify problems and improve production throughput, cost, product quality and process safety
  • Maintain process documentation, including test procedures, routers, travelers, process flows, work instructions, and PFMEAs
  • Inform facility layout to ensure efficient and productive manufacturing flow
  • Manage a team of production technicians to ensure safe and efficient task completion.

Qualifications

  • You are hands-on and you enjoy the gritty details of developing manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Prior direct or indirect leadership in a manufacturing setting
  • 5+ years of industry experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma tools 
  • Track record of developing and maintaining process documentation
  • High-level of dedication, punctuality and reliability
  • Familiar with additive manufacturing, 3D printing, robotics, metal fabrication, or industrial automation
  • Proven ability to work with minimal additional leadership or engineering support in the factory
  • The knowledge and ability to troubleshoot equipment       
  • BS in an engineering or relevant field experience


SALARY RANGE: $67,900 - $101,900 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance.  This position includes a competitive benefits package.
