Overview

Overview & Position Summary

This role oversees day-to-day construction operations for assigned SHAWOOD residential projects, ensuring homes are built safely, on schedule, and in accordance with approved plans and quality standards. Working independently under limited supervision, the position coordinates field execution across multiple trades while resolving complex construction challenges. The role has a direct impact on operational performance, quality outcomes, and schedule adherence. It also provides leadership and guidance to field teams and trade partners to drive consistent results.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage daily on-site construction activities for assigned SHAWOOD homes and communities.
  • Coordinate and sequence trade partners to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to schedules.
  • Ensure construction work complies with approved plans, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex field issues that impact schedule, cost, or quality.
  • Monitor progress against production schedules and take corrective action as needed.
  • Conduct site inspections and verify completion of work at key construction milestones.
  • Communicate construction status, risks, and issues to internal stakeholders.
  • Enforce jobsite safety practices and company policies across all trades.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to assistant superintendents or field staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Education & Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of residential construction or field operations experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline; or 9–11 years of equivalent experience
  • Prior experience leading multiple homes, neighborhoods, or subdivisions

Working Conditions

This position operates primarily in active residential construction site environments with regular exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, dust, and varying weather. Limited office work may be required for planning, documentation, and coordination. Local and regional travel between assigned communities and job sites is expected.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on construction sites
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and navigate uneven terrain
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and reach during inspections
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to visually inspect construction work and site conditions

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $83,000-$100,000
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Bonus Type: Quarterly Production
