Position Summary

As an IT Site Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring technology enables the success of our manufacturing and business operations. You will lead a local IT team, oversee infrastructure and systems that support day-to-day operations, drive technology projects, and act as a trusted partner between site leadership and corporate IT teams. You will also write product requirement documents, lead implementation, and track development timelines, negotiate feature sets with the development leads and product vendors.

What You'll do as an IT Site Manager at STERIS

Lead and Develop IT Operations

• Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals responsible for supporting business applications, infrastructure, and end-user technology.
• Drive employee engagement, performance, coaching, and professional development.
• Ensure reliable and secure IT operations that support business continuity.

Deliver Strategic Technology Projects

• Lead the implementation of major IT initiatives, including system upgrades, new technology deployments, facility expansions, and relocation projects.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology.
• Manage project timelines, resources, risks, and budgets to ensure successful delivery.

Oversee Infrastructure and Systems

• Support and maintain server, storage, networking, cloud, communications, and end-user computing environments.
• Ensure systems comply with corporate security standards and best practices.
• Coordinate incident response activities and support business-critical issue resolution.

Manage Vendor Relationships and Budgets

• Evaluate, negotiate, and manage external technology vendors and service providers.
• Review and approve purchases of hardware, software, and technology services.
• Contribute to annual budget planning and financial management activities.

Support Manufacturing Excellence

• Partner with operations teams to ensure technology solutions support manufacturing and production processes.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
• Promote compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience managing technical teams, projects, or key technology initiatives.
• 10+ years of experience in systems administration, IT infrastructure, or a related technical role.
• 5+ years leading IT resources, technology projects, or operational support teams.
• Proven experience successfully managing large-scale technology implementations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Successful candidates will have experience across multiple technology disciplines, including:
  • Microsoft: Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Group Management, File Services, Printing;
  • Hardware: A+ Technician\Client Hardware, Laptops, desktops, workstations, thin clients and mobile devices, Local and network printers, Scanners, and other peripherals, Servers, Router & Local Storage;
  • Microsoft: System Center Configuration Manager (OSD, Package\Application Deployment), SharePoint, Exchange, Office 365, Intune, Hyper- V;
  • Security: i. End-Point protection (A\V and Hard drive Encryption), ePO, CrowdStrike;
  • Dell: Client Computing Hardware platforms;
  • Citrix: XenApp Online Plugin / Receiver;
  • Checkpoint: VPN client; SSL Connectivity;
  • Mobile Device Management: MobileIron; Andr.

Preferred

• Experience supporting manufacturing, production, or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent technical certifications.
• Experience working with enterprise infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity technologies.
