Full Job Description
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Sexual Assault/Sexual Harassment Prevention and Response Specialist, (GS-0101-11) to serve as a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Victim Advocate at the 9th Reconnaissance Wing (RW), Office of the Installation Commander, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program, Beale Air Force Base (AFB), Marysville, California

Salary: $82,780 - $107,620 based on experience.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

In this position, you will serve as an installation Sexual Assault/Sexual Harassment Victim Advocate. You will provide a wide range of essential support and advocacy services, liaison services, and care to victims of sexual assault/sexual harassment. Under the supervision of the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC), you will perform duties including crisis intervention, safety planning, and ongoing non-clinical support.

Qualifications/Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship Required

This is a designated Drug Testing Position

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Must possess a valid driver's license

A criminal background check must be completed

This is a Mission Essential & Key Position. Active Guard and Reserve personnel are not qualified.

Education Requirements:

Degree: At least a bachelor's degree in a behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

OR

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

Must be able to obtain and maintain the required credentials for the position.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of a wide range of social science and social work principles, concepts, and practices related to victim advocacy and the SAPR program.

Knowledge of Public Law, regulations, and executive orders relating to victim advocacy within the DoD and DAF.

Skill with trauma-informed practices to provide tailored emotional support.

Skill with training and education techniques to implement and deliver prevention and response training.

Ability to develop trusting relationships engaging interpersonal skills within the scope of supporting victims.

Ability to employ various methods of highly skilled professional advocacy (crisis intervention, assessment).

Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or an on-call status, which includes staffing the 24-hour hotline.
