The ServiceNow Product Engineer partners with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow solutions that support business objectives and enhance user experiences. This role helps translate business needs into well-defined requirements, user stories, and prioritized backlog items, ensuring teams have clear direction and accurate information to execute effectively. Leveraging established ServiceNow development standards and best practices, the engineer delivers scalable, reliable, and high-quality platform capabilities while contributing to the continuous improvement of processes, workflows, and service delivery.

In addition to hands-on development, testing, and support, the ServiceNow Product Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements refinement and solution design through deployment and ongoing maintenance. The role works closely with stakeholders to help maintain backlog health, clarify priorities, and ensure development teams are equipped with the information needed to deliver solutions successfully. The engineer contributes to application reliability and performance by troubleshooting issues, participating in code reviews, and applying secure development and testing practices. Success in this position requires strong collaboration, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to balance stakeholder needs with technical execution while helping teams deliver business value through the ServiceNow platform.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Designs, develops, tests, and maintains ServiceNow software components and services that address defined business and user requirements within an assigned technical domain.
2. Implements well-scoped features and enhancements for the ServiceNow platform using established coding standards, architectural patterns, and development best practices.
3. Contributes to the reliability, scalability, and performance of ServiceNow applications by writing high-quality, maintainable code and participating in peer code reviews.
4. Collaborates with cross-functional technical teams to execute planned technical initiatives and deliver solutions on schedule.
5. Troubleshoots, debugs, and resolves ServiceNow software defects and production issues within area of responsibility, applying root-cause analysis as needed.
6. Participates in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements refinement, design discussions, development, testing, deployment, and support.
7. Applies secure coding practices, testing strategies, and documentation standards to ensure software quality and compliance with team guidelines.
8. Leverages existing frameworks, tools, and technologies to build and enhance applications across relevant technology domains.

2. In-depth knowledge of information systems with the ability to identify, apply, and implement IT best practices.
3. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Professional Certifications, ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), Certified Application Developer (CAD), and IT framework certifications such as SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM), or ITIL Foundation.

2. Knowledge of ServiceNow product management, demand management, and platform delivery practices.

3. Experience in backlog management, roadmap planning, demand intake, requirements management, and value-based prioritization, ensuring delivery capacity is aligned to strategic business initiatives and platform objectives.

4. Experience establishing and executing platform governance, intake processes, stakeholder engagement models, and data-driven decision-making frameworks that balance business value, technical feasibility, operational risk, and platform health.

5. Strong knowledge of Agile product operating models, including management of epics, features, stories, release planning, dependency management, and cross-functional delivery teams.

6. Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform capabilities, CSDM, AI and automation opportunities, integrations, and performance metrics, with the ability to translate stakeholder needs into scalable, sustainable, and business-aligned solutions.

The annual base salary for this position is $110,000 - $128,000.
