Full Job Description
Jim Pattison Lexus Northshore is looking for a motivated Service Technician to join our team. As an integral member of our Service Department, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles while ensuring every job is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

As a Lexus Technician, your technical expertise and attention to detail will help deliver outstanding workmanship and reliable vehicle repairs. You will play an important role in providing an exceptional ownership experience by upholding Lexus' commitment to quality, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.

A Day in the Life
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards
  • Perform thorough vehicle inspections with accurate documentation and measurements
  • Identify mechanical and electrical issues, recommend solutions, and communicate findings clearly to Service team
  • Partner with Service Advisors to provide updates on repair timelines or recommend additional safety work
  • Conduct road tests and pre-delivery inspections on new inventory to ensure every vehicle leaving the shop is in top condition
  • Coordinate with the Parts Department to source what you need and manage warranty labeling
  • Assist fellow technicians when needed to maintain overall shop productivity
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Ensure a high degree of confidentiality with company and customer information
  • Participate in maintaining a supportive and engaging working environment


What We're Looking For
  • Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certification or currently in the process of challenging it
  • Previous experience as an automotive technician is required
  • A valid BC Driver's license is required, including a satisfactory Driver's Abstract is required
  • Able to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable
  • Ability to work the physical requirements of a service technician role
    • Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
    • High level of mobility, dexterity, endurance, and sensory awareness
  • Ability to work in an automotive shop environment
    • Indoor automotive shop with multiple service bays
    • Exposure to noise (engines, air tools), fumes (exhaust, solvents), and dust
    • Work performed around moving vehicles, hoists, and heavy equipment
    • Temperature can vary (shops may be cooler in winter, warmer in summer despite heating/ventilation)
