Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily shop and field service operations.
  • Enforce company policies and Health and Safety standards.
  • Train Service Technicians through hands-on experience.
  • Communicate performance deficiencies to Technicians and conduct retraining as necessary.
  • Assist in competency evaluations with management and training staff.
  • Manage daily work schedules and time-off requests for Technicians.
  • Organize monthly reviews and meetings for the Service Department.
  • Oversee completion and compliance of Hours of Service and inspection logs.
  • Ensure maintenance of all company equipment according to standards.
  • Schedule service fleet units and oversee employee certifications.
  • Conduct inventories of service tools and trucks as needed.
  • Set up and run on-location services from start to finish.
  • Innovate solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Review field service reports and sign off as necessary.
  • Provide timely resolutions to client issues and concerns.
  • Assist with technical support for bidding processes and presentations.
  • Drive HSE compliance and initiatives in the field and shop operations.

Full Job Description
Key position functions include:

  • Co-ordinate daily activities of the shop and field service requirements.
  • Enforce current company policies, expectations and Health and Safety programs.
  • Train all Service Technicians through hands on work in the shop and customer locations.
  • Communicate deficiencies to Service Technicians and retrain as required to maintain compliance.
  • Assist with competency evaluations of service, in conjunction with the Manager and Training Department.
  • Handle and control daily work scheduling and time off requests of Service Technicians.
  • Organize and conduct monthly review and meetings for the Service Department.
  • Execute Hours of Service (HOS), review all inspections, log books and FLRA's of Service Technicians.
  • Assure all company equipment and property is maintained to company expectations.
  • Responsible for booking and scheduling of service fleet units and employee certifications.
  • Perform service tool inventories and service truck inventories when required.
  • Performs training assessments in house and in field for Service Technicians.
  • Capable of setting up and running all services on location, from set up to teardown.
  • Ability to come up with innovative solutions and strategies to ensure all the day to day services have been controlled.
  • Review and sign off on all field service reports (FSR's).
  • Make recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiencies of the services.
  • Lead and work alongside the team members and evaluate their performance in the field.
  • Supervise and motivate field staff to provide and deliver excellent services.
  • Address all client issues in a timely manner and ensure issues have been resolved.
  • Provide technical assistance for bid packaging and presentation.
  • Completion of all HSE requirements and drive all HSE initiatives in the field and shop, along with maintaining 100% compliance on DATS.
  • On call responsibilities.
  • Perform other various duties as assigned by Manager.


Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

  • Minimum 8 - 10 years of comprehensive knowledge of wellhead products and service industry.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Service Technician Level 3 qualifications and training requirements or industry equivalent.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all wellhead products and the service industry.
  • Strong troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Class 3 Drivers License, ability to produce a current driver's abstract.
