Service Manager

Location: Bensenville/Chicago, IL

Work Style: Hybrid- 25% in the field, 75% in office

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and train a team of HVAC/R technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Direct Reports: oversee, guide and direct four field service managers.
Service Delivery: assist dispatchers, project manager, sales reps and account managers in scheduling, dispatching, and completion of service calls, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.

Customer Satisfaction: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and professionally.

Quality Control: Ensure that all work performed meets the highest quality standards and complies with industry regulations.

Performance Management: Monitor technician performance, providing regular feedback and conducting performance reviews.

Inventory Management: Provide support/guidance to the warehouse manager one the management of parts and equipment inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing costs.

Safety Compliance: Enforce adherence to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all technicians.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of commercial HVACR/refrigeration experience
  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory, service management, or leadership role.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.\
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification and/or other relevant HVACR industry certifications.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing HVACR technicians and field service teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial refrigeration, HVACR, equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Experience managing service operations, scheduling, dispatch coordination, and customer escalations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service management software.

Desired Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, HVACR, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment (hot-side)
  • Experience overseeing multiple managers, departments, or service teams.
  • Background in inventory management, fleet operations, or warehouse support.
  • Experience partnering with sales, project management, and account management teams.
  • Business development and customer retention experience.
  • Strong financial and operational management skills.
