Job Description:

Caterpillar’s Excavation Division (EXD) is seeking a Service Growth Consultant to join our Peoria, IL team!

Role Summary:
In this role, you will help drive strategic growth for Excavation Services through an entrepreneurial, data-driven approach. As part of the EXD Aftermarket Business Development team, you will lead strategy development for Services Growth within the Core regions, partnering with product groups, Customer Solutions (CS), New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering, and enterprise teams to identify market opportunities, strengthen portfolio alignment, and support initiatives that improve customer outcomes and long-term growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with Customer Solutions, NPI, and Engineering to align the aftermarket portfolio with customer needs, industry trends, and regional growth opportunities.

  • Evaluate competitive dynamics, market trends, and unmet customer needs to identify risks, opportunities, and strategic gaps.

  • Synthesize voice-of-customer insights, competitive intelligence, and market data into recommendations that shape the aftermarket strategy roadmap.

  • Support Customer Solutions and dealer needs across Core regions.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with sales, marketing, finance, operations, and product support teams to align priorities and drive execution.

Strategic Thinking: Connects market trends, customer needs, and business priorities to identify growth opportunities and keep teams focused on key objectives.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Experience working directly with Caterpillar dealers, preferably in a field-based role

  • Aftermarket experience in marketing, commercial, or business development functions.

  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to understand customer challenges and develop practical, value-driven solutions.

  • Ability to analyze data, identify insights, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Creative, forward-thinking problem-solving skills with a passion for continuous improvement.

  • Flexibility and willingness to collaborate, influence, and lead change with internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across functions.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive for results, innovation, and solving complex business challenges.

Additional Information:

  • This role is based full-time in the Peoria, IL office and requires onsite work five days per week.

  • Relocation assistance is available for candidates relocating to Peoria, IL.

  • This position requires up to 25% domestic and international travel.


Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location,job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
