Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Sr. Principal Information Assurance Engineer to join its team. This position is in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:

The Systems Security Engineering (SSE) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Sr. Principal Information Assurance Engineer for Program Protection and Supply Chain Risk Management. You will be responsible for performing system security threat assessments and risk mitigation for the overall program, supply chain elements, processes, and actors and provide results.

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Designs and implements information assurance and security engineering systems with requirements of business continuity, operations security, cryptography, forensics, regulatory compliance, internal counterespionage (insider threat detection and mitigation), physical security analysis (including facilities analysis, and security management).
  • Will lead a team of SSE members in execution of Program Initiatives.
  • Establishes and implements system security designs; additionally, you will assess and mitigate system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle.
  • Validates system security requirements definition and analysis. Verifies security requirements; performs system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities.
  • Execute completion Statement of Work requirements, Program Milestone Exit Criteria, and program maturity commitments.
  • Self-starters compelled to act in the workplace without being prompted from supervisors.
  • Support MDT with other duties as assigned.
  • Travel: 10%

This position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance with investigation within the last 6 years or in Continuous Evaluation (CE) status.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Top Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • 8 years of experience with bachelor's degree, 6 years of experience with master's degree, 4 years of experience with a PhD. An additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered 'in lieu of' a degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of applying and understanding Systems Security Engineering principles applicable to US Government Defense and/or US Military Programs.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership in dynamic and diverse environments.
  • Minimum 3 years in researching, interpreting, and developing mitigations for threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Minimum 3 years in showing the ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 7 years of experience with Master's degree, 4 years of experience with a PhD.
  • Experience applying and understanding Systems Security Engineering principles applicable to US Government Defense Programs and/or US Military Programs.
  • Experience researching, interpreting, and developing mitigations for threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience performing operations security and/or counterespionage and/or physical security analysis.
  • Experience communicating effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
  • Direct experience conducting supply chain risk management or program protection.
  • Demonstrated experience with vulnerability management.
  • Experience with Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools.
  • Knowledge of acquisition threat analysis and protection initiatives for acquisition programs.
  • Military Intelligence, Law Enforcement, or other USG Intelligence agency experience preferred.

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
