DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Defense has an opening for a
Principal Systems Engineer (level 3)to join its Guidance Computer team in
Roy, UT in support of the Sentinel Program Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.
What You'll Get To Do:- As a SEIT Verification engineer/Compliance engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating the Sentinel systems engineering strategy for the allocation and verification of military and industry standards, levied against the Sentinel program.
- You will act as a cross-cutting liaison between program various Business Units as the subject matter expert on how requirement verification is handled in the program.
- The successful candidate must have a strong engineering background, understand how requirement regulations and standards are decomposed, allocated and verified into Sentinel performance specification.
- You will be responsible to coordinate the requirements verification and report status to the department leadership.
- The successful candidate should have an understanding of requirement decomposition, and general understanding of the regulatory compliance. Experience with DOORS is preferred. In addition, the successful candidate should have enthusiasm to learn and coordinate with all levels of engineering across the Sentinel Program.
- Support the program requirements verification lead to develop and maintain system level requirement verification.
- Collaborate with program subject matter experts and various teams to ensure lower-level requirements are appropriately decomposed
- Candidate will manage system level information, and collaborate with US Government stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of related experience, 3 years of related experience with master's degree, or 1 year of related experience with PhD.
- Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time (as determined by the company to meet its business need)
- Experience with systems engineering requirement development and verification processes.
- Minimum 3 years in showing strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and present technical details to peers, and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: - An Active Security Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification
- DOORS experience
- Knowledge of Engineering and Test Principles
- Previous test experience at any level of build (unit, element, segment, etc.)
- Experience working with internal and external teams to accomplish tasking
- Experience operating in an Agile environment using any of the Atlassian software tool sets (JIRA, CONFLUENCE...etc.)

This position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

#SentinelSystemsPrimary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
