DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a
PrincipalHuman Factors Engineer (T03 level)
/ Sr Principal Human Factors Engineer (T04 level). This position is located in
Roy, Utah, and supports the Sentinel program. This role is with the Human Factors and Systems Engineering (HFE) team, working on compliance on the Sentinel program.

What You'll Get To Do:The selected engineer may be responsible for multiple tasks within requirements, verification, and interfaces for the Sentinel program from an FHE / HSI perspective. The engineer may be responsible for performing tasks dealing with interface definition, requirement decomposition, compliance tracking, verification planning and verification execution.
Basic QualificationsThis requisition may be filled at either the Principal Engineer level (T-03) or Sr Principal Engineer level (T-04).
Required for Both Levels:- Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Demonstrated experience utilizing UI/UX design principles
- Experience using Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project and Engineering Scheduling tools or applications
- 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience
- 2+ years working in requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS)
Principal Systems Engineer (T-03 level):- Educational background in psychology, human factors, user experience, graphic design, industrial design, or HCI-related field from an accredited university, and at least 5 years of related experience with a bachelors degree; OR at least 3 Years of relevant experience with a master's degree; OR 1 Year with a PhD degree
Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (T-04 level):- Educational background in psychology, human factors, user experience, graphic design, industrial design, or HCI-related field from an accredited university, and at least 8 years of related experience with a bachelors degree; OR at least 6 Years of relevant experience with a master's degree; OR 4 Years with a PhD degree
Preferred Qualification- Past/Active employment with MMIII or Sentinel Weapon Systems
- 4+ years of Systems engineering experience
- Experience with any of the following tools and languages: DOORS, Cameo, Teamcenter, CPLM, Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) for the development of complex systems of systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
- Ability to build software prototypes for usability testing of candidate designs
- Experience with visual design of computer user interfaces
- Human Factors, Psychology or similar degree
- Experience with Human Factors in a defense contracting environment (familiarity with Mil-Std-1472G and ANSI/HFES 100-2007), DoD UI/UX Design Experience
- Demonstrated experience with prototyping/wireframing tools

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

#SentinelsystemsPrimary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
