DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a
Mission Engineer (T-02 level). This position is located in
Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
What You'll Get To Do:The Mission Engineer is a member of the AVE Modeling and Simulation and Analysis (AVE MS&A) team responsible for AVE performance and flight assessment.
- Utilize trajectory simulation tools, both in 3 and 6 degrees of freedom, analyzing the results of those simulations
- Develop algorithms for missile targeting software, implementing numerical methods, as well as other missile models.
- Trajectory simulations support, but are not limited to, payload to range, post boost vehicle maneuverability, weapon system effectiveness, accuracy, vehicle environment characterization, and flight test predictions.
- Missile targeting software generates trajectory profiles to be used when carrying out the mission
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with a Master's degree.
- Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis experience of Aerospace Vehicles through either professional work experience or education, performing physics based simulation and analysis
- Programming skills
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Git
- C++ programming experience
- Experience with mission level simulations (Red vs. Blue, e.g. ITASE, AFSIM, HLA Federations, etc.)
- Experience with missile modeling and trajectory simulation

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
