Job Summary:
Manages the vision, roadmap, and delivery of Workday Financials product capabilities for Vanderbilt Health. Translates business, operational, and regulatory needs into a governed product roadmap aligned to organizational priorities and system constraints.

This role serves as the domain product owner for Workday Financial Management, Adaptive Planning, and Supply Chain Management partnering closely with a peer Product Manager responsible for HCM/Payroll to ensure cross-functional alignment, shared system continuity, and coordinated delivery. The role is cross-trained across domains to provide coverage and support across the Workday platform.

Ensures that product capabilities are delivered in a controlled, auditable, and scalable manner, consistent with Vanderbilt Health governance, security, and compliance standards. Operates within structured intake, prioritization, and approval processes to ensure all product decisions are traceable and aligned to enterprise objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads the vision, roadmap, and delivery of Workday Financials, Adaptive, and Supply Chainproduct capabilities.
  • Translates customer, operational, and regulatory needs into enhancements within a governed product roadmap, balancing value, risk, and platform constraints.
  • Partners with a peer Product Manager (HCM/Payroll) to ensure cross-functional alignment, dependency management, and continuity of support.
  • Facilitates structured intake, prioritization, and approval processes to ensure appropriate review and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Leads Workday release planning and feature adoption for Financials including evaluation of new capabilities, regression risk, integration impacts, and business readiness.
  • Ensures all product changes adhere to audit, compliance, and documentation requirements, including maintenance of decision logs, approvals, and supporting artifacts.
  • Coordinates with business, IT, security, and governance stakeholders to resolve competing priorities, escalate risks, and support decision-making.
  • Collaborates with functional leaders, analysts, and architects to refine requirements, optimize processes, and drive adoption.
  • Performs analysis of market trends, vendor capabilities, and emerging technologies (including AI-enabled functionality) to inform roadmap decisions.
  • Measures and monitors outcomes including adoption, operational efficiency, and value realization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Workday experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience supporting ERP, Product Management, Business Systems, Application Support, Project Delivery, or related functions
  • Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, technical resources, and third-party vendors
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills


PREFERRED Experience
  • Workday Financial Management, Supply Chain Management, and Adaptive Planning support
  • Experience leading Workday release management activities
  • Ticket management in Jira and ServiceNow
  • Support of Agile delivery methodologies and sprint-based work management

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

IT Portfolio Management (Intermediate)

Demonstrates mastery of IT Portfolio Management in practical applications of a difficult nature. Manages the Workday Financials products and enhancement portfolio at Vanderbilt Health, aligning investments to strategic priorities and governance decisions. Applies structured prioritization to evaluate initiatives based on value, risk, regulatory impact, and cross-functional implications. Ensures all decisions are traceable and supported by appropriate approvals.

Emerging Technologies & AI Governance (Intermediate)

Demonstrates knowledge of emerging technologies and their impact on enterprise systems, including AI-enabled functionality within Workday and related platforms.
  • Identifies and evaluates new technologies and capabilities.
  • Assesses AI-enabled features and aligns them with appropriate governance, risk, and approval processes.
  • Coordinates intake and review of AI-related capabilities, ensuring alignment with Vanderbilt Health policies and standards.
  • Ensures AI use cases include defined objectives, measurable outcomes, and appropriate approvals prior to implementation.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends, regulatory considerations, and ethical implications of AI.


Project Coordination & Delivery Management (Intermediate)

Coordinates execution of product enhancements and releases, including tracking dependencies, risks, and issue resolution. Manages prioritization procedures for scope changes and ensures adherence to change control and governance expectations. Supports production readiness activities aligned to Workday release cycles.

Ensures delivery execution aligns with the approved product roadmap and established governance processes.

Governance, Risk, and Compliance (Intermediate)

Demonstrates proficiency in operating within Vanderbilt Health governance frameworks for Workday enhancements and product management.
  • Ensures all product initiatives follow defined intake, prioritization, and approval processes.
  • Maintains audit-ready documentation, including requirements, approvals, and change records.
  • Partners with governance, security, and compliance stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational policies.
  • Identifies, manages, and escalates risks through appropriate channels.
  • Supports audit and compliance activities by maintaining complete, accurate, and traceable evidence of product decisions and changes.


Product Knowledge (Intermediate)

Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to support Workday Financials applications and capabilities. Demonstrates understanding of Workday architecture, business processes, security model, integrations, and reporting capabilities, and incorporates platform constraints into product decisions.

Maintains cross-functional awareness of other Workday domains to support collaboration and backfill responsibilities.
