The Senior Windows Endpoint Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert for both physical and Microsoft Virtual Desktop (MVD) environments, leading endpoint modernization initiatives and ensuring secure, scalable endpoint management solutions that support highly regulated environments. This position is a hybrid role based in Durham, NC.
Responsibilities of the Senior Windows Endpoint Engineer:
• Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for physical endpoint and Microsoft Virtual Desktop (MVD) environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise endpoint management solutions using Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and Cloud Management Gateway (CMG).
• Drive endpoint modernization efforts, including cloud-based management and automation initiatives.
• Integrate endpoint platforms with Azure AD, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and Defender for Identity.
• Develop and enforce endpoint security policies to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage operating system deployments, patch management, application packaging, and software distribution.
• Troubleshoot complex endpoint issues and provide technical guidance to infrastructure and security teams.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, and systems engineering teams to improve endpoint performance, reliability, and security posture.
Qualifications of the Senior Windows Endpoint Engineer:
• 6+ years of experience managing enterprise Windows endpoint environments.
• Strong expertise with Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, and Cloud Management Gateway (CMG).
• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Virtual Desktop (MVD) or Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
• Experience with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD/Entra ID), Defender for Endpoint, and Defender for Identity.
• Knowledge of endpoint security best practices and compliance frameworks related to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
• Experience with Windows imaging, operating system deployment, patch management, and endpoint lifecycle management.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
Compensation for the Senior Windows Endpoint Engineer includes:
• Salary range: $115,000 - $130,000 depending on experience
