The Opportunity:Tetra Tech is adding a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to our Engineering team based in Houston, TX.
Position Summary:Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Texas team to provide support on various engineering projects throughout Texas. This role will be primarily commercial with a focus on industrial clients. This person will be splitting their time between high level project management & technical responsibilities.

- Attend and potentially lead regularly scheduled meetings with the clients.
- Help bring in Business Development Opportunities.
- Lead internal engineering and design teams on single and multi-disciplined projects.
- Assume role of lead technical engineer as needed.
- Review other members of the team's design efforts.
- Review calculations prepared by junior and midlevel staff related to water/wastewater.
- Perform periodic quality control reviews.
- Help manage project budget and schedule.
- Oversee the preparation of permit applications to regulatory agencies; occasionally take lead on permit application preparation.
- Interface with vendors, equipment suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Meet with regulatory agencies.
- Attend bid openings, review bid packages, and make recommendations to clients for the award of contracts.
- Serve as lead person on proposal development for new opportunities.
- Write proposals and Engineering Work Orders (EWOs).
- Interact with commercial/industrial clients to identify needs and develop solutions.
Required Qualifications:- Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Chemical, etc.).
- A Professional Engineering (PE) License.
- 10-15 years of experience with designing & managing water & wastewater projects from a COMMERCIAL / INDUSTRIAL BACKGROUND.
- Knowledge and experience with environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements of Texas.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing office and computer-based work.
- Ability to operate a computer and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Ability to occasionally traverse active construction sites, treatment facilities, and other project locations with uneven or rough terrain.
- Ability to occasionally ascend/descend stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, and navigate confined or restricted work areas as necessary for site observations.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry equipment, plans, or materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting project or construction sites.
- Ability to travel to client, project, and construction sites as required.
