Full Job Description
Reporting to the President and CEO, the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) sets the tone for the employee experience, advises the senior leadership team, and supports organizational advancement. A member of the senior leadership team, the CHRO develops and executes Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Employee and Labor Relations, Learning and Organizational Development, Employee Health Services and Spiritual Support Services initiatives to support GBMC Healthcare System's strategic plan, while also driving operational efficiency and service excellence. The CHRO oversees diversity, equity, and inclusion programming in conjunction with the President & CEO.

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred


Licensures/Certifications:
  • SPHR preferred


Experience:
  • Minimum 20 years of Human Resources experience, with 10 + years as a senior Human Resources leader in a large, multi-divisional enterprise


Skills:
  • Strong strategic leadership and project-management skills
  • Proven technical skills in all aspects of Human Resources.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to think creatively when confronted with challenges.
  • Strong knowledge of HR trends, regulations, and best practices.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees all aspects of Human Resources and Employee Health Services for the entire Healthcare System; Oversees Spiritual Support Services for the Hospital;
  • Collaborates with President and CEO and Chief Diversity Officer on DEI programming


Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute human resources (HR) strategies aligned with the overall organizational strategic goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure workforce plans support the long-term goals of the healthcare system.


HR Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant federal and state employment laws and regulations within the healthcare industry.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and Joint Commission accreditation requirements.


Total Rewards:

  • Design and administer competitive and comprehensive benefits and compensation programs to balance the needs of employees with business affordability.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and local market trends to ensure competitiveness.


Talent Management:

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to ensure the healthcare system attracts and retains top talent.
  • Implement workforce planning and development programs to address current and future staffing needs.


Employee & Labor Relations:

  • Foster positive employee relations, addressing concerns, disputes, and fostering an engaged workforce in a psychologically safe work environment.
  • Manage relationship with SEIU 1199 to include labor negotiations, grievance administration and NLRA compliance.


Learning, Organizational Development, DEI

  • Design and implement employee and leader training and development programs to enhance the skills and competencies of healthcare system employees.
  • Ensure succession planning for key roles and create employee development resources to enable career growth.
  • Foster DEI programming that provides an environment of belonging for all employees


Employee Health Services

  • Ensure compliance with all occupational health laws and regulations, to include injury reporting and treatment, annual vaccination requirements, new employee onboarding, and safety interventions, such as ergonomic assessments and injury investigations

Pay Range
$250,000.00 - $425,000.00
Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
