The Custom Hardware and Electronics Configurator (CHEC) team builds and maintains DTNA's proprietary web-based tool that enables Truck Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs), dealers, and internal teams to configure and validate vehicle electrical features. CHEC operates in a safety-relevant, high-complexity domain where usability, correctness, and delivery discipline are critical.
We are looking for a Senior UX Designer / Scrum Master to own the user experience strategy for the CHEC platform while also serving as the primary Agile facilitator for the CHEC Dev/Ops team. This role is approximately 70% UX Design and 30% Scrum Master & Agile Facilitation. You will design intuitive workflows for complex configuration tasks, establish reusable UX patterns and safety-oriented design standards, and partner with React/.NET engineers to bring designs to life. On the Agile side, you will facilitate ceremonies, partner with Product Owners on backlog refinement, and promote continuous improvement. AI fluency is a core competency on this team - you will leverage AI tools daily to accelerate research, ideation, and design workflows.

Position offers a starting salary range of $117,000 - $150,000 USDPay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA- Own end-to-end UX for the CHEC web application
- Design intuitive workflows for complex configuration tasks (logic creation, PTO setup, dash switch & gauge layouts)
- Create wireframes, interaction models, and high-fidelity prototypes
- Establish and maintain reusable UX patterns and safety-oriented design standards
- Partner with React/.NET engineers to ensure high-quality implementation
- Conduct usability testing with internal users, dealers, and TEMs
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate UX research synthesis, persona development, and ideation workflows
- Explore and integrate AI-assisted prototyping and design tools to increase iteration speed
- Serve as Scrum Master for the CHEC Dev/Ops team
- Facilitate core Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Reviews, Retrospectives)
- Partner with Product Owners to refine backlog items and acceptance criteria
- Identify and help remove impediments affecting delivery
- Promote Agile best practices and continuous improvement
- Ensure transparency on progress, risks, and dependencies
- Champion adoption of AI-augmented development practices across the team
Knowledge You Should Bring- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of UX design experience on complex enterprise or technical web applications
- Strong background in interaction design and information architecture
- Hands-on experience working in Agile / Scrum teams
- Strong facilitation and communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with AI-assisted design and research tools (e.g., Claude, Midjourney, Figma AI features)
- Foundational prompt engineering skills - ability to craft effective prompts for research synthesis, content generation, and design exploration
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and refine them to meet UX quality standards
Exceptional Candidates Might Have- Prior experience as a Scrum Master or Agile facilitator
- Experience with configuration tools, engineering, or safety-relevant systems
- Familiarity with React-based design systems
- Scrum Master certification (CSM or equivalent)
- Experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to support design-to-development handoff
- Track record of integrating AI tools into UX workflows to measurably accelerate research and design delivery
- Familiarity with prompt design for user-facing AI features
