Senior Underwriting AnalystThe Senior Underwriting Analyst plays a critical role in supporting EmpiRx Health's growth by driving financial analysis for RFPs, renewals, and market checks. This role is responsible for developing underwriting strategies, generating financial offers, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness in proposal deliverables. The analyst partners cross-functionally with Sales, Clinical, and Proposals to support client acquisition and retention while managing financial risk and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:Underwriting Strategy & Financial Modeling- Develop underwriting strategies for new business opportunities, including complex RFPs
- Present financial strategies and assumptions to Sales, Clinical, and Proposals teams
- Retrieve, analyze, and input RFP data into underwriting models with accuracy
- Interpret financial results and adjust models based on strategy and deal requirements
RFP & Proposal Management- Manage multiple RFPs concurrently, meeting established turnaround timelines (e.g., 6-day and 10-day RFP cycles)
- Ensure 6495 accuracy across all deals tracked in the Accuracy Tracker
- Handle BAFO pricing and follow-up questions with minimal guidance
- Deliver completed work for internal review within underwriting timelines with a high degree of reliability
Data, Risk Management & Controls- Analyze key financial metrics and identify risks associated with underwriting decisions
- Recommend solutions to manage downside risk and financial exposure
- Support development of improved controls and process enhancements
Tools & Analytics- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in underwriting models and financial calculations
- Utilize data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Domo) to support insights and reporting
- Leverage Salesforce for tracking and coordination of deals
- Apply advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis
Required Qualifications & Experience:- Bachelor's Degreeor other relevant education and experience as determined by the company
- 4+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, underwriting, or financial analytics
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to leadership
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications but Not Required- Master's Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Experience in PBM, health plan, or healthcare industry
- Experience with financial underwriting or pricing models
- Experience supporting RFP processes and financial modeling
- Experience using data visualization or analytics tools such as Tableau or Domo
- Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud
