Collaborate with the West Virginia District Director and the transportation industry experts to maintain and grow Burgess & Niple's presence as a premier planning consultant in West Virginia, Ohio, and beyond. We're seeking a Senior Transportation Planner in our Charleston or Parkersburg, WV office.

B&N Senior Transportation Planner Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a wide range of planning services to clients and develop new client opportunities.
  • Manage key projects and work closely with a team of planners helping clients deliver comprehensive/master plans, long-range plans, corridor and project level studies, active transportation plans, area plans, safety plans, etc.
  • Develop client relationships and engage in business development efforts with support from our marketing team and office leaders
  • Leads facilitation of meetings and workshops with clients, stakeholders, and the public
  • Provides guidance and review of the work of other planning staff

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Urban/City/Regional Planning, Geography (urban), or similar
  • 7+ years minimum of progressively responsible experience in community planning, transportation planning, or safety planning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; experience with GIS software preferred
  • Excellent written communication skills and detail oriented
  • Project management and business development experience
  • AICP Certification preferred

Evening meetings and travel could be required
