RoleIn this role, you will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team of professionals and be a crucial leader in transportation engineering design. You will lead the technical preparation of construction plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) while helping grow our technical design capabilities in Smart City infrastructure, micro-mobility facilities, TDM integration, Safe/Complete Streets, and multi-modal corridors.

Responsibilities:- Engineering Design Leadership: Lead and oversee the preparation of detailed engineering designs, geometric layouts, cross-sections, drainage, and utilities for urban roadways, multi-modal corridors, and active transportation infrastructure.
- Project & Package Delivery: Responsible for the final delivery of comprehensive PS&E (Plans, Specifications, and Estimates) packages in compliance with local, state, and federal standards.
- Business Development: Win work and identify future design opportunities; prepare technical approaches for proposals and respond to RFPs/RFQs.
- Client & Project Management: Manage client relationships, maintain project schedules, and deliver complex design projects on-budget.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work seamlessly across disciplines (environmental, regulatory, and advisory) to ensure sustainable and resilient design solutions.
- Mentorship & Staff Management: Supervise, mentor, and perform quality control reviews for junior design engineers and CAD technicians.
- Public Engagement: Present complex engineering designs and visual concepts clearly to clients, stakeholders, and the public during outreach events.

- The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:- Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Experience: 10+ years of increasingly responsible professional experience in transportation infrastructure design.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required (ability to obtain reciprocity in target states if necessary).
- Technical Software: High proficiency with industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads).
- Subject Matter Expertise: Familiarity with evolving best practices and design guidelines (AASHTO, NACTO, state DOT manuals) regarding smart cities, micro-mobility, and urban multi-modal design.
- Mobility: Valid driver's license and willingness to travel by airplane and car, including overnight travel.
- Core Competencies: Detail-oriented, critical thinker, dedicated to quality work, with strong interpersonal, written, and graphic communication skills.
