We are seeking a Senior Transportation Design Engineer/Technologist to continue to build our traffic and transportation team from a design perspective, business lines, and to take their career to the next level.
Your Role & Responsibilities- Coordinate the planning, design, and construction management of a wide range of urban and rural transportation projects including new roadway alignments, interchanges, roundabouts, traffic signals, signalized/unsignalized intersections, and active transportation infrastructure.
- Perform detailed design work and inspection work of streetlighting and traffic signals (temporary and permanent) for municipal and/or provincial design projects.
- Prepare construction specifications, drawings, and tender documents.
- Manage project budgets and schedules.
- Identify efficient project execution methods and associated resourcing needs.
- Engage with a variety of stakeholders including owners, contractors, sub-consultants, operations staff, utilities, businesses, and the public.
- Coach, mentor, and develop junior staff.
- Foster a safe and inclusive working culture.
Qualifications & Experience- Degree/Diploma in Transportation Engineering and/or Civil Engineering.
- 8+ years of related experience specializing in Traffic/Transportation design that may include roadway alignments, interchanges, roundabouts, traffic signals, signalized/unsignalized intersections and active transportation infrastructure.
- L.E.T./P. Eng. designation with PEO or C.E.T. designation with OACETT is required.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Proven ability to learn and adapt software, such as transportation modeling, GIS, AutoCAD and innovative new applications.
- Experience determining Transportation Demand Management elements and assessing/ improving active transportation facilities.
- Strong project management skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication and team-building skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to perform individually or as a member of project teams.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects, proposals and/or priorities.
- ITE Canada membership desired.
- Valid Ontario driver's license (minimum G2).

The salary range for this role is between $106.4K - $141.1K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
