  • Ensure all trades from our Aladdin system are sent downstream to the relevant Custodians and Prime Brokers.
  • Provide expert settlement advice and analysis to other areas within AIMCO concerning new and existing products.
  • Coordinate internal movement of assets between Custodian and Prime Brokers, resulting in lower borrowing rates for portfolios.
  • Manage the settlement and maturity of all Repo/Reverse Repo transactions with counterparties to ensure timely settlement and accurate recording in AIMCo's Aladdin system.
  • Manage the settlement of all collateral movements directed by the Collateral Management team to ensure timely settlement of transfers, allowing AIMCo to meet its collateral obligations.
  • Manage the settlement of Foreign Currency trades with counterparties. Monitor and maintain State Street TradeNexus multi-counterparty foreign exchange trade matching and confirmation system.
  • Assist the Front Office in coordinating settlement of Private Placements.
  • Create/maintain AIMCo settlement instructions in Aladdin for Equity and Fixed Income trades.
  • Developing, documenting, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key Trade Settlement activities.
  • Create manual trade and FX instructions, when required.
  • Create/maintain AIMCo settlement instructions in TradeNexus for FX Spots and Forwards.
  • Setting up new brokers and liaising with Legal, Compliance and Securities Operations for new account documentation and coordinating with counterparties to ensure settlement instructions are in place prior to trading.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all current and new investment products.
  • Keeping up to date on all market and regulatory changes impacting AIMCo.
  • Assist Front Office with special projects.

What Success looks like in the role:
  • Demonstration of the ability to take initiative and be inquisitive.
  • Embraces a growth mindset and actively seeks out opportunities.

  • 4+ years of related experience in the investment industry.
  • Advanced understanding of financial markets, institutional asset management, investment regulations, complex investment strategies, investment process and best practices relating to internal controls and procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of current industry settlement practices plus familiarity with various investment products.
  • Functional knowledge of Aladdin would be considered an asset.
  • Analytical abilities needed to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, solve problems, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
