Full Job Description
Location: Southeast, FL (serving tri-county area)

The Senior HVAC Technician is a top-tier, hands-on technical role responsible for performing complex installations, diagnostics, and repairs across residential and light commercial systems - including VRF, VAV, and commercial rooftop/split units. Beyond the technical work, this person leads by example in the field: mentoring junior and mid-level technicians, modeling strong sales conversations with customers, and reinforcing the standards the company runs on.

This is not a desk job. The Senior Technician spends the vast majority of their time on tools, in trucks, and on job sites - setting the pace for the rest of the field team through the quality of their own work and the way they carry themselves with customers.

Speed, craftsmanship, and consistency are non-negotiable in this position.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On Technical Work
• Perform installations, service, maintenance, and repairs on residential and commercial HVAC systems, including VRF, VAV, rooftop units, and commercial split systems
• Diagnose complex system issues and mechanical/electrical faults others escalate to you
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship on every job - this is the benchmark other technicians are held to
• Follow all safety standards, licensing requirements, and company SOPs
• Keep truck stock, tools, and equipment properly maintained and job-ready

Field Mentorship & Peer Leadership
Serve as a technical mentor to junior and mid-level technicians - answering questions, walking through tricky diagnostics, and modeling proper technique on-site
• Set the tone for professionalism, pace, and quality on shared job sites
• Support onboarding of new technicians from a technical standpoint (not hiring/recruiting)
• Flag recurring technician performance or training gaps to the GM

Systems & Reporting

• Keep job records, notes, and photos accurate and complete in the CRM/dispatch system
• Communicate job status, delays, and parts needs clearly to dispatch and the GM

• Address on-site customer concerns directly and professionally; loop in the GM for anything requiring escalation
• Take pride in post-install and post-service quality - the kind of work that earns 5-star reviews

Highly Preferred
• Commercial installation/service background (VRF, VAV, rooftop units)
• Track record of strong close rates and average ticket as an individual performer
• Experience training or informally mentoring other technicians
