Position Summary...What you'll do...Role summary: The Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration, leads the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems across commercial and industrial facilities. This role oversees diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and regulatory compliance. The position involves managing refrigerant handling, coordinating field teams, and supporting workforce development through mentoring and training. Additionally, the Senior Technician collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement operational improvements, manages vendor relationships, and participates in on-call rotations to address critical business needs promptly and effectively.
What you'll do: - Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork, control panels, and refrigeration units.
- Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues to ensure optimal system performance.
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
- Manage refrigerant handling, inventory, and vendor relationships in compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
- Coordinate and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and evaluating skill development.
- Maintain detailed work documentation and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local HVAC/R codes.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support critical business needs outside regular hours.
What you'll bring: - Proven expertise in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including refrigeration units and building pneumatics.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial settings.
- Experience leading field teams, mentoring technicians, and managing escalated service challenges effectively.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant handling protocols, and compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R codes.
- Ability to manage parts inventory, vendor relationships, and coordinate service calls to meet business priorities.
- Proficient in documenting work orders, maintenance logs, and submitting required reports accurately.
- Skilled in operating heavy machinery and company vehicles safely and in accordance with policies.
The hourly wage range for this position is $35.00 - $70.00*
*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Option 1: 3 years' experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
Option 2: 6 years' experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
1 year's experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years' Walmart store experience.
Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2-year associate's of applied science A/C and refrigeration., Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)., Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams., Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment., Prior work experience with Glycol and C02 systems.
