Job Description

As a Senior Tech Writer here at Honeywell, you will lead and manage a team of technical writers to create clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation. You will develop and implement standards, processes, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all documentation. Your expertise in technical writing principles and style guides will be essential in maintaining a high level of professionalism and adherence to industry standards.

In this role, you will impact documentation quality, team performance, cross-functional collaboration, process efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction. Join us at Honeywell and make a difference in shaping the future of our technical documentation practices.

You will report directly to Engineering Manager and work on-site out of our Northfield, CT location following a hybrid schedule. Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite Monday through -Friday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of high quality technical documentation for complex products and systems
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather information and ensure accuracy of technical content
  • Research, analyze, and interpret technical information to create clear and concise documentation
  • Develop and implement documentation standards, processes, and best practices
  • Review and edit technical documents for clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technical writers
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in technical writing tools and methodologies


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in technical writing, preferably in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of technical writing principles, style guides, and documentation standards
  • Proficiency in using authoring tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Experience in managing documentation projects and teams
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction

The annual base salary range for this position $83,200 to $104,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
