JOB TITLE: Senior Tax Manager

LOCATION: Frisco, TX (hybrid role, may work from home.)

DUTIES: Provide Federal and State Tax compliance and advisory services (70%) which includes the following: provide federal and state tax compliance under principal direction to S-corporations, partnerships, individuals, and corporations ranging from middle market to multinational clients, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP") ASC740 consulting services to corporations ranging from middle market to multinational clients; direct and plan multiple client projects and engagements under principal direction that deliver proactive tax planning related to tax compliance and tax accounting in accordance with GAAP; identify transactional taxation projects (Section 368 merger transactions, Section 382, Section 1502 consolidated group compliance) for referral to tax specialists within the firm, and assist in preparation of related federal, state and international transactional tax compliance requirements; apply accounting principles to perform initial technical review of moderately complex corporate, flow through, individual, partnership, and S-corp tax return compliance (Form 1120, Form 1065, Form 1120-S, Form 1120-REIT, and Form 1040); apply accounting principles to perform initial technical review of moderately complex income tax provisions prepared in accordance with ASC 740 for audit engagements of financial services clients; coordinate with specialty tax practices on highly complicated tax matters in the state and local, high net worth, international, research and development, transactions tax and structuring, along with credits and incentives areas; manage client relationships and client engagement staffing, prepare billings/collections for firm principal approval; ensure quality control in accordance with technical standards for work performed by staff level employees; use beginning entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients; use knowledge of tax law and strategies to identify additional areas of service to offer current clients; and assist in the conversion of opportunities for additional service and new business into engagements for the firm. Provide tax research and strategic planning (20%) which includes: participate in tax research and planning projects for clients to minimize tax liability; perform tax research and prepare memos for principal review across a wide range of tax issues related to business tax compliance engagements; build on technical competency by keeping up-to-date on changes to accounting standards and tax regulations, developments and technical authorities and apply them to client situations; evaluate and advise clients on the impact of new tax laws with principal guidance; and train staff on tax law concepts and changes through on-the-job management of duties and in-office formal training. Manage and lead staff through counsel, guidance and coaching (10%) which includes the following: effectively delegate and oversee the work efforts of the staff by setting project goals, coordinating resources, and removing obstacles with principal guidance; and provide evaluation and document the growth of the staff through the client project experience.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Accounting, or a related field, and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Tax Manager, Senior Tax Associate, Corporate Tax Analyst, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 8 years of experience in the following: corporate tax return preparation, ASC 740 income tax accounting and provision calculation, providing tax advisory services to clients; providing federal and multistate corporate income tax compliance and consulting services; providing tax controversy services, research and analysis; and using software including OneSource Income Tax, GoSystem RS, and Microsoft Suite. Experience therein to include 5 years of experience supervising and mentoring tax staff. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required. Hybrid role, ability to work from home.
