SummaryThe Tax Accounting Senior at Quaker Houghton is responsible for supporting the Company's income tax accounting and compliance reporting processes, including quarterly and annual tax provisions, current and deferred tax analysis, tax account reconciliations,, financial statement disclosures, and global income tax returns. This role partners with Finance, Accounting, various other functional groups, and external advisors to ensure compliance with ASC 740 while supporting income tax compliance, audits, process improvements, and strategic tax initiatives.
Responsibilities - Prepare and support quarterly and annual US and foreign income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
- Prepare / assist with current and deferred tax expense analyses.
- Prepare / assist with quarterly and annual tax expense journal entries.
- Support preparation of financial statement tax disclosures, audit documentation, and compliance with SOX internal controls.
- Prepare / assist in the measurement of and accounting for uncertain tax positions.
- Assist with valuation allowance assessments and related documentation.
- Prepare/ assist with US and International tax compliance
- Coordinate with external service providers on federal, state, local, and international tax compliance activities.
- Assist with tax audits, notices, and information requests from tax authorities.
- Research and document technical tax accounting issues.
- Support process improvement and tax technology initiatives across the global tax function.
- Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, and other functional teams to align data requests for tax-related matters.
- Participate in special projects and strategic tax initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree required with emphasis in accounting or other financial discipline.
- 3+ years of public accounting and/or multinational corporate experience in the field of taxation, particularly in tax accounting.
- Knowledge of ASC 740 and income tax accounting concepts.
- Experience preparing or supporting tax provision calculations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and awareness of other technology tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications - CPA certification.
- Experience with OneSource Tax Provision software.
- Experience with multinational publicly traded companies and SEC reporting requirements.
- Experience with JD Edwards or other similar ERP systems.
