Full Job Description
The Senior Talent Acquisition (TA) Manager is Savara's dedicated US talent acquisition leader, responsible for both managing TA across the company and personally recruiting. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role in which the Senior Manager personally executes every stage of the hiring process, from intake and sourcing through scheduling, offers, and systems administration. This individual will help scale a growing, multi-state company while ensuring that speed and growth never come at the expense of how candidates and employees experience the hiring process.

Responsibilities
  • Champion a talent acquisition culture that reflects Savara's values, prioritizing integrity, respect, and a genuinely positive experience for every candidate, whether or not they receive an offer.
  • Own full life-cycle recruiting for all open vacancies company-wide, from intake through start date, partnering directly with hiring managers and executives on role scoping, sourcing strategy, and search calibration.
  • Source, screen, and manage candidate pipelines, spanning clinical, scientific, commercial, and corporate functions.
  • Identify, engage, and manage relationships with external contract recruiters and agencies for surge or specialized searches, including scoping assignments, setting quality and experience standards, and reviewing performance.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve a candidate and hiring-manager experience that is responsive, transparent, and respectful at every stage, treating this as a non-negotiable even under hiring pressure.
  • Own and administer Savara's recruiting systems and tools (ATS, sourcing, scheduling, and reporting platforms), ensuring they support a smooth, well-organized experience for candidates and hiring teams.
  • Manage and improve repeatable, compliant hiring processes and tools, including structured interview guides, scorecards, and offer workflows, that scale with the company's growth.
  • Partner with Corporate Affairs and HR leadership to strengthen Savara's employer brand across the career site, social channels, and candidate-facing messaging.
  • Manage requisition approvals and headcount tracking in partnership with the Chief People Officer (CPO)
  • Ensure hiring practices comply with applicable multi-state and federal employment laws given Savara's distributed workforce.
  • Partner with HR and Hiring Managers to ensure a seamless, well-coordinated handoff from offer acceptance into onboarding.
  • Track, analyze, and report recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, pipeline health, source of hire, offer acceptance, candidate experience feedback) to the CPO and business leaders.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • At least 6 years of full lifecycle experience recruiting within small or emerging biotech or pharmaceutical companies is required.
  • Demonstrated experience operating as a lean or "team of one" talent acquisition function, including sourcing directly and managing external recruiting partners or agencies.
  • A genuine, demonstrated commitment to candidate and employee experience, with a track record of building hiring processes that are both efficient and respectful
  • Advanced skills managing and using an ATS, scheduling software, and other recruiting technology.
  • Working knowledge of multi-state employment law.
  • Experience recruiting across a range of functions, including scientific, clinical, commercial, and corporate roles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with executives and hiring managers.
  • Strong instincts for employer branding and storytelling that reflect company culture authentically.
  • Keen attention to detail, ability to speak and write effectively in English, and a strong ability to synthesize and organize information
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • No direct employee reports; directs and manages the work of external 1099 contract recruiters, including scoping assignments, setting expectations, and reviewing performance and quality.

Location and Travel
  • This role is remote and requires availability to work and take meetings across US time zones as needed
  • This role requires travel to the Savara office outside of Philadelphia, PA approximately quarterly, and additional domestic travel as needed.

Savara provides comprehensive benefits including:
  • Highly competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Flexible Spending Accounts for health care and dependent care expenses
  • Paid time off and paid holidays, including Dec 24-Jan 1
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401(k) with highly competitive match
  • Life, AD&D, STD and LTD insurance coverage

Savara's compensation can include an hourly rate, bonus, and equity. This role may be filled at a Senior Manager or Associate Director level, and the salary range is $125,000 to $165,000.
