Torch Technologies is seeking a
Senior Systems Engineer to join a team to provide advisory and assistance services in support of a DoW ACAT I program. A successful candidate will have a history of experience in performing systems engineering responsibilities. The candidate will be a central touchpoint for several different integrated product teams responsible for ensuring compliance with systems engineering principles.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:- Responsible for technical/operational leadership of a project/mission or group of projects/missions within the programmatic guidelines set by the program manager and customer
- Defines, generates, and reviews project requirements documentation
- Develop and apply advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of advanced system requirements and problems.
- Advise and assist in performing Systems Engineering for the design, development, manufacturing, operation, maintenance, and eventual disposal of a weapon to be integrated on an aircraft.
- Plan, monitor, and support decision analysis, requirements management, and risk management by following the Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model
- Coordinate tasks with multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) from a variety of engineering fields (software, mechanical, and electrical) and across numerous functions from program management, logistics, and finance.
- Represent the systems engineering IPT at design reviews, technical interchange meetings, planning, meetings, and program management reviews.
- Ensure adequate planning, readiness, and closeout of system engineering technical reviews.
- Evaluate system development and performance through conduct of system technical reviews.
- Evaluate trade studies and advise the program leadership about risks and impacts to supportability, cost, and schedule.
- Write, coordinate, and maintain program documentation.
- Prepare reports and presentations and give technical presentations for program leadership.
- Utilize IBM Rational DOORS to verify implementation of requirements and appropriate flow through the system
- Work to support the development of the program's Model Based Systems Engineering
Required Qualifications:- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Possess at least 8 years of project engineering experience with a minimum of 12 years engineering or related experience.
- Must be familiar with DoW Acquisition processes or project management professional principles.
- Current DoW TS/SCI Clearance (or US Gov equivalent). Ability to obtain and maintain a DoW Clearance.
Preferred Skills:- Master's degree in a relevant engineering field (Aerospace, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Systems, etc.).
- Experience in a program office is desired.
- Air Force DAU Engineering and Technical Management (or similar) is desired.
