Full Job Description
Stafford Gray is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support a portfolio of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and SaaS applications for a large public-sector client's finance and budget operations. This is a hands-on role that combines server and application administration with requirements analysis. You'll install, configure, secure, and maintain applications across Windows and Linux environments, and you'll also work directly with vendors and business users to plan and deliver changes.

What You'll Do
  • Install, configure, and maintain systems and application components on Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
  • Administer and support COTS applications, and configure changes for SaaS products as needed
  • Implement and configure applications in Azure cloud infrastructure, including containerized workloads and infrastructure-as-code deployments
  • Gather and document requirements, research and present options, and recommend solutions for application changes and new initiatives
  • Remediate vulnerabilities and maintain application and infrastructure security in line with federal, state, and industry standards
  • Configure and troubleshoot SSO integrations (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect)
  • Monitor application and server health using Dynatrace or similar tools, and troubleshoot performance issues
  • Create and maintain architecture and network diagrams in Visio
  • Collaborate closely with vendors, customers, and other technical teams to deliver projects and changes on time

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • 5-7+ years installing and configuring systems and application components in Windows and Linux environments
  • 5-7+ years of hands-on Windows Server administration (2016 or later) and RHEL 7+ administration
  • 5-7+ years gathering and documenting requirements and recommending technical solutions
  • Experience with IIS, Tomcat, MS SQL Server Management Studio, XML, and PowerShell
  • Working knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN), firewalls, and system architecture
  • Experience with monitoring and debugging tools such as Dynatrace
  • Experience with SSO protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID)
  • 3-5+ years implementing and configuring applications in Azure, including Azure services, containerization, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Visio
  • Must reside within 90 miles of Lansing, MI (48933)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting finance, budget, or ERP-type applications
  • Exposure to AWS or GCP
  • Experience in a public-sector or regulated environment with formal security and compliance standards
  • Familiarity with IoT environments
