Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Cisco UCS and VMware vSphere/VCF administration experience required.
• Security+ or higher certification mandatory; VMware Certified Professional (VCP) preferred.
• Knowledge of server virtualization, vSAN, NSX, and software-defined data centers (SDDC) essential.
• Proficient in managing virtualized environments and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong skills in hardware lifecycle management necessary.
• Understanding of SAN/NAS storage integration with VMware is crucial.
• In-depth knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation architecture preferred.
• Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python) for task automation are a plus.
• Public Trust clearance required; Secret clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor Cisco UCS domains and associated hardware.
• Manage, maintain, and upgrade VMware components, including ESXi and vSAN.
• Design and enforce computing policies for classified data compliance.
• Conduct health checks and performance monitoring on UCS and VMware systems.
• Test and document disaster recovery procedures regularly.
• Apply VMware and Cisco updates following security protocols.
• Strengthen infrastructure according to agency security guidelines.
• Monitor environments using vRealize Operations and similar tools.
• Manage access control and audit logs for VMware and UCS.
• Support troubleshooting and perform root cause analysis for incidents.
• Generate performance and compliance reports for audits.
• Engage in working groups and disaster recovery drills.
• Maintain current SOPs and operational documentation.
