The Opportunity:
  • Provide Systems Administration and Management of Networks and Communications Devices at the Satellite Network Operations Center at Fort Dix, NJ
  • Supports a Team of Network Engineers and Help Desk Administrators in the fielding, operations and sustainment of the Global Rapid Response Information Package (GRIP) in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Investigate various technical, network, security and operational problems that are often complex and require extensive investigation, analysis and advanced solutioning based on the challenges faced with operationally deployed units in various CONUS and OCONUS Locations.

Responsibilities:

Systems Administration & Virtualization:
  • Manage and maintain a virtualization infrastructure consisting of ESXi hosts, vCenter Servers, and 50+ Windows and Linux virtual machines
  • Engineer and maintain the standardized baseline system image for multiple GRRIP equipment variants ensuring consistent software deployment and global operational readiness.
  • Serve as Information Management Officer (IMO) and primary liaison to the Network Enterprise Center (NEC), managing user requirements, reporting network issues, and leading lifecycle equipment refreshes.


Security, Compliance & Vulnerability Management:
  • Manage IT equipment lifecycles, including installation, configuration, patching, and system hardening in strict compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). -
  • Engineer a fully operational Point of Presence (POP) across three distinct network enclaves (NIPR, SIPR, and MPE), ensuring continuous and secure connectivity


Log Management & Incident Response:
  • Monitor and analyze system, application, and security logs to identify, investigate, and triage system errors, performance degradation, and potential security incidents.
  • Create custom dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide leadership with real-time visibility into system health and security posture.


Technical Support & Training:
  • Deliver expert technical support for the Global Rapid Response Information Package (GRRIP) system to a global user base of U.S. Army personnel, civilians, and contractors via remote and hands-on methods.
  • Develop and execute training programs on the operational use of the AN/PSC 15 (GRRIP) Kit, significantly enhancing user proficiency and system adoption.


Qulifications:

Required:

Clearance - Active Secret
  • At least 10 years of Department of the Army experience engineering, securing, and supporting mission-critical military communication systems and multi-enclave networks (NIPR, SIPR, MPE).
  • Must have served as the primary Information Management Officer (IMO) liaison to Network Enterprise Centers (NEC), developing real-time security dashboards, and delivering comprehensive technical training and global support to U.S. Army personnel.
  • CompTia Security Plus


Technical Skills must include experience with:
  • VMware vSphere
  • ESXi (7.x/8.x),
  • vSAN (Virtual Storage Area Network)
  • Microsoft Windows Server (2019/2022)
  • Windows 10/11
  • VMware PowerCLI
  • PowerShell
  • Veeam Backup & Replication


Desired:
  • Technical skills and experience associated with Dell PowerEdge, Dell Laptops and Workstations, HP EliteDesk, Dell N and S Series switches, Cisco UCS220 Servers, Cisco Switches and Routers, Microsoft SQL [2016/2019], PostgreSQL, and Solarwinds Orion Platform
