Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Senior System Test Manager to lead a team of test engineers to ensure a quality user experience with our products and accessories.
ResponsibilitiesThe Senior System Test Manager will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive test plans to validate that hardware, embedded software, cloud services, and mobile app software meet documented market and product requirements. This role will focus on functional and system-level testing, excluding regulatory compliance and mechanical reliability testing.
Key Responsibilities- Test Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement system test strategies, methodologies, and plans to validate hardware, embedded software, cloud services, and mobile app software against documented market and product requirements.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and grow a team of test engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Test Execution and Oversight: Oversee the design, development, and execution of test cases, scripts, and procedures to ensure comprehensive coverage of system functionality, performance, and integration.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, engineering (hardware, embedded software, cloud, mobile app and compliance teams), and other stakeholders to align testing efforts with product goals and timelines.
- Test Automation: Drive the adoption of test automation tools and frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage, particularly for cloud and mobile app software.
- Reporting and Metrics: Provide clear, concise reports on test progress, results, and quality metrics to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with project objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance testing processes, tools, and methodologies to improve product quality and team efficiency.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in system testing, quality assurance, or related roles, preferably in a connected device or IoT product environment.
- 4+ years of experience leading or managing a test engineering team.
- Proven experience testing integrated systems involving hardware, embedded software, cloud services, and mobile applications.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of system testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools.
- Knowledge of hardware-software integration testing and debugging tools.
- Experience with cloud-based systems and mobile app testing (iOS and Android).
- Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools.
- Expert in Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Project Management: Working with Project Managers and functional leads to establish project plans, holding teams accountable for their dates and deliverables
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing quality issues.
- Preferred but Not Required:
- Experience in the consumer electronics or connected appliance industry.
