Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Geomatics/Surveying, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in roadway construction projects in Canada (less experience considered).
• Availability for travel to project sites across Western Canada.
• Proficiency with GPS, scanning, bathymetric, and total station survey equipment; Trimble Survey Controllers experience is a plus.
• Experience with survey software; knowledge of Trimble Business Center or Civil 3D is advantageous.
• Preference for candidates with a current Advanced UAV license.
• Familiarity with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors survey requirements is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely completion of construction layout and surveys.
• Supervise and mentor survey assistants while providing technical guidance.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and clients.
• Process and verify field survey data for accuracy and completeness.
• Interpret roadway construction drawings and extract digital design information for layout.
• Prepare digital surface models and perform quantity calculations for construction bid items.
• Follow internal procedures and industry standards, prioritizing safety in all activities.
