Job Summary:

Provides leadership and direct oversight of production scheduling, materials management, and logistics operations in the plant. Ensures customer orders and deliveries are as requested, on time, and as specified.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):
  • Responsible for Production Distribution Center Performance including on-time shipping percentage, inventory accuracy, and indirect labor expense.
  • Responsible for the performance of various supply areas including Safety, Quality, and Direct / Indirect Labor dollars, etc. and achieving AOP targets for assigned areas.
  • Ensure all Safety, Quality and 5S expectations are met.
  • Serve as E1 Business Lead for the facility.
  • Responsible for managing raw material inventory levels to provide expected service level and meet company inventory metrics as well as administering the campus cycle count program for inventory integrity.
  • Provides finished goods invoicing targets.
  • Performs detailed scheduling and production activity control.
  • Executes for bill of material changes, accuracy, and ECN implementation.
  • Manages and improves Inventory systems at the plant and off-site warehouse.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of planning data used to drive purchases of raw materials through materials requirements planning system.
  • Leads purchasing group including supplier scheduling, purchase orders, and supply performance.
  • Responsible for raw materials, expensed materials, and component receipts, stores, and delivery to support production processes.
  • Directs finish goods production reporting, labeling, storage, planning loads, internal transportation, and releasing of loads to customers.
  • Actively manages logistics and logistics' costs for inbound and outbound freight.
  • Deploys continuous improvement and lean methodologies to drive increases in productivity while teaching these skills to team members and drives efficiency improvements for all supply chain areas.
  • Responsible for financial measures of inventory management, indirect labor, and logistics.
  • Partners with suppliers to achieve improved performance on cost, delivery, and quality.
  • Supports Accounting to ensure SOX compliance.


SCOPE & IMPACT:

Strategic direction and leadership of the entire supply chain. This role is responsible for making high-level decisions that affect the company's competitive positioning and customer satisfaction through on-time, accurate product delivery.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) from an accredited college or university with 8-10 years related experience, or equivalent.
  • CPM or CPIM certification.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Record of strong Safety and Quality program support
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Excellent Leadership qualities/skills
  • Outstanding organizational/interpersonal skills
  • Operational knowledge of essential computer programs
  • Proven ability to communicate with all levels of employees.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • Furniture or consumer products manufacturing experience
  • Lean Manufacturing certification
  • Specialized training in Supply Chain management, Logistics, Production Scheduling or Leadership
  • Travel Required: Up to 10%


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises 3 to 8 Managers and Professional personnel in the Supply Chain Department.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
